Beth couldn't explain when her elbows bent dramatically - and her knees -
then her head hit the floor but from that moment, her body was face-down on the wooden floor.
A couple of suburbs away, the same thing happened to a young man just out of the shower.
Beth seemed to come-out-of a day dream state and could feel her wrists slide towards her face and effortlessly lift her face; head up off the hotel floor and to her horror; she looked down to the bottom of her torso, her toes were doing the same.
She instinctively thought about going over to the drinks counter and around. Suddenly her wrists and her toes shuffled her across the wood floor and to her total disbelief, as she approached the counter, she shuffled sideways around the counter to the other side where she normally stands getting drinks for her patrons.
He was similar; on the bathroom floor now suspended between his bent wrists and toes. He thought and was delighted about where his phone was. He had been sitting on the living room floor leaning against the lounge - the phone was on the carpet floor.
Suddenly his wrists and toes moved him around gently and effortlessly 360 degrees in his confined bathroom space and he was moving; gliding out towards the coffee table.
The wall phone rang. Her eyes darted up trying to see. She tried turning. The phone continued ringing. She knew she had to reverse-out and did so. The mat she always stands on waiting for her dad to arrive raced past just missing her chin.
The phone stopped ringing then, a peep and - .
'Sorry darling, it's me dad and I will be late. Yes I called Brenda, left a message to see if she can come in. See you soon.'
Her eyes went wide. Not because of her sudden predicament but... she has to let them in. No one else today has a key.
His goatee beard just touching the shag pile carpet and as he glided over, his phone rang and it was a message. His girlfriend was asking him to "buzz" the door to let her in from taking out the rubbish before friends arrive.
'Attention volunteers -.' Said a crisp voice. 'We apologize for the... sudden interruption.' The sound of a keyboard typing fast. 'Please - could you please remove the headphones provided-.'
Her eyes opened and she remembered where she was - standing in a vertical capsule-like vault. A person walked up to her vault in a white lab coat, pressed a button on the outside frame edge.
'Was it like a Bird or was it like an Elephant?'
Her eyes were looking everywhere; adjusting to the light and her immediate surrounds.
'Sorry, was it Orange for a Bird or Blue for an Elephant or Rhino?' the white lab coat asked then smiled.
She nodded.
'Orange for Bird?'
Her eyes focused and lifted her arms. She really appreciated her hands.
